Knowledge and Experience Make the Difference

Few Real Estate Practitioners anywhere have the depth and breadth of education and experience that Ed brings to the profession.  Ed started his Real Estate experience in 1976 when he became a Real Property Right-of-Way Agent with Sierra Telephone.  For the next 24 years he purchased land and leases; procured easements and rights-of-way; and obtained permits from various government agencies at national, state, county, and district levels.  He parceled land, wrote legal descriptions, drafted documents, and coordinated activities with Land Surveyors, Title/Escrow Officers, Developers, Builders, Contractors, Public Officials, Appraisers, Attorneys, Engineers, Agents, Brokers, and other land services professionals.

In 2005 Ed completed 6 additional college and college level Real Estate courses and upgraded to a Broker’s license.  He served as Education Committee Chairman for the Yosemite Gateway Association of REALTORS® for 2006 and 2007, and currently serves on the Association’s Technology Committee.  He also teaches Real Estate courses at the local community college.

Ed graduated from Antelope Valley College with a major in Business Administration. He also holds both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of San Francisco.  In former lives, Ed has been an Arthur Murray Ballroom Dance Teacher, a Retail Store Manager, a Radio Announcer/Engineer, a Retail Business Owner, and an Advertising Account Executive.

Ed served on the Oakhurst Elementary school board (before it merged with the Bass Lake District), Vision Academy board, Mountaineer Days board, Heritage Days board, and served on the Executive Committee of Action Committee to Incorporate Oakhurst Now (ACTION) and Action Political Action Committee. He has served as a Director of the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce, and was a founding Director of the Yosemite High School Scholarship Foundation. He has served as President of two church congregations and was Moderator of the Northern California Conference of Congregational Christian Churches.  Both Ed, and wife Shirley, are recipients of the coveted "Angels Amongst Us" award for their more than thirty years of community service to Oakhurst and the surrounding area.

Ed and Shirley bought a home and a local business, and moved their family to Oakhurst in 1972,  They love living in this enchanting mountain area, and Ed most enjoys, being a match maker - bringing sellers and buyers together, and helping his customers sort through the great selection of homes and other real estate for sale in Oakhurst, Bass Lake, Ahwahnee, North Fork, Coarsegold, O’neals, Mariposa, Yosemite, and other nearby places,
